mod issue on smf forum
« on: February 10, 2015, 06:11:14 PM »
Hi admin,actually the pretty url mod that I used before is what I used to design my forum homepage which has been removed because that issue that I had on my forum,so my question now is" is there any alternative to that mod? Or should I install the latest version of the mod? I really like the mod so how do I get the feature back without error?"

Alright, let me know when you are ready for me to make the changes that you want, however it seem that feature link you are using is the recent post feature on simple portal, you can clear me on this.

Yes,I created a block for the Feature post,
So what I really need is fixing the pretty url mod and aligning homepage post to center,hiding the posters name at homepage.
Thanks

I have look through your site, you are using the main simple portal recent post feature and i wont want to temper with the code, incase of updating of your forum in the future, so i have decided to create an alternative code you could use to achieve the same result.

I created a new block with the code bellow.
Code: [Select]
echo '
<div style="border:1px solid gray; width:90%; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 10px">

<div id="tcontent1" class="tabcontent">';
// leave out the recycle board, if any
if(isset($modSettings['recycle_board']))
$bb = array($modSettings['recycle_board']);
else
$bb = array();

$what = ssi_recentTopics('20', $bb, 'array');

// Output the topics
echo '

<table style="width: 100%">';

foreach($what as $wi => $w)
{
echo '<tr>
<td><a href="' . $w['href'] . '" title="' . $w['subject'] . '">' . $w['icon'] . '</a></td>
<td><center><a href="' . $w['href'] . '" title="' . $w['subject'] . '">' . $w['subject'] . '</a></td></center>

<td align="right"><i>' . $w['board']['link'] . '</i> ';

if(!$w['new'])
echo ' <a href="'.$w['href'].'"><img src="'. $settings['images_url'].'/'.$context['user']['language'].'/new.gif" alt="new" /></a> ';
echo'</td>';

echo'</tr>';

}

echo'</table>';

If you wish to change the number of output topics, simply change the number 20, to what ever you want in this line of code
Code: [Select]
what = ssi_recentTopics('20', $bb, 'array');
